Lata Bayu Waterfalls

Lata Bayu  isometimes referred as Lata Asam Jawa features the famous 20 m cascading waterfalls that forms a pool known as Lubok Lesong.

Sungai Pegang flows through this recreational park, which is situated within Teloi Forest Reserve in  Baling district and is about 48 km from Sungai Petani town.

To get a 
breathtaking  view of  the scenic waterfalls, just climb up to the top of the watch tower provided by the park.

Lata Bayu Recreational Forest is a popular picnicking attractions among the local community where  this place can be crowded with visitors during weekends or public holidays.

There are no chalets currently available, however other facilities such as car parking lots, resting huts, toilets, food stores, sundries and  souvenir stalls are there to serve customers.

Also outside the recreational park along the road side, there are stores selling goreng pisang (fried banana), drinks, swimming apparatus and fruits.

Campsites are available but needs written permission from District Forestry Office before anyone be allowed to camp inside the park.  

There is a 5 km trekking trail through the dipterocarp forest to Bukit Tok Bidan ( 842 m Altitude) .

The park gated at night as to prevent  illegal activities in the park such as poaching and legal herb collecting. It  is known that this park is rich in wild herbs like tongkat ali and kacip fatimah.
